Water spots might appear.

I love my bench but didn't realize the teak has a wax coat that will wear off when out in the open.
So after the first rain shower I saw some water spots thinking there was something wrong with my bench?
Customer service explained that this was normal. It was just the wax coat starting to disappear due to the rain and direct sun.
If my bench would have been on a covered porch it would probably not happened and stayed honey tone a long time.
As recommended I washed off the wax coat with water, dawn soap and a soft brush. It worked and it was a simple fix.
Now weeks later the bench is starting to turn patina. It looks pretty and thank you for your advice.

Anniversary bench

This made an original gift for my parents 25th wedding anniversary. My husband assembled the teak bench and had a custom plaque ordered and put it on there. The gift made them happy and we're happy we found an affordable durable gift.

Hi: I am deciding between the 5ft El Mar bench and the 5ft San Juan Bench. What are their differences? Is one heavier than the other? Sturdier? From the pictures, seems like San Juan has wood plugs to hide the bolts; is that the case? If none has wood plugs, any suggestions to hide the bolts? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your interest in our teak benches. Yes, both the San Juan and El Mar are very similar and both are equally strudy and weigh the same at 62 lbs. So it's really just personal preference as the styling is slightly different. There will be exposed bolts on both the El Mar and San Juan benches. If you'd like to cover the bolt holes, you can take a wooden dowel that's slightly larger and tap it into the hole and then cut it off flush with the outside wood.
